About Us

Celebrating a rich family history spanning generations, Huxter Estate takes its name from our ancestral home - a tiny hamlet in the Shetland Islands that steals the heart of all who visit.

Set on a single vineyard of hand-picked, hand-pruned Shiraz vines, Huxter Estate incorporates family into every aspect of its wine production.

Starting to build our own family hamlet here in the Pyrenees, Huxter Estate is owned, managed, and loved by Lauren Hughson & Kristopher Meuwissen, as well as their growing family.

Adopting a collaborative village style approach to managing our land and vines amongst our family is the cornerstone of what makes Huxter Estate special. Having harvest parties and great conversations over long days pruning the vines has allowed us to make our wine production not only just a family operation but a fun and social experience. 

Our intention and aim is to grow and produce a beautiful product that can be shared with the ones we love, and pay homage to our family across the sea whose namesake we carry (and who love a good drop of red).

We hope everyone who enjoys our wine gets to do so in the same manner - after all they are best enjoyed with great conversation with friends and family.
